Instructions for use for Zymafluor D 500 C.C.Tablets

Zymafluor D 500 C.C.is a medicine for the prevention of rickets and tooth decay in infants and small children up to the age of two.This product is available without a prescription.

The medicine contains the active ingredients colecalciferol (vitamin D3) and sodium fluoride.One tablet contains 12.5 µg colecalciferol, equivalent to 500 international units, and 0.553 mg sodium fluoride, equivalent to 0.25 mg fluoride.In addition, it contains various excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, beef gelatin, sucrose, magnesium stearate, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, soybean oil, saccharin sodium 2H2O, vanillin and DL-α-tocopherol.

Zymafluor D 500 C.C.is used to prevent rickets and tooth decay in infants and small children up to the age of two.

Dosage and application

Infants and small children up to the age of two receive one Zymafluor D 500 C.C tablet daily.for preventive treatment.The tablet should be dissolved in a teaspoon of liquid and then administered directly into the mouth.It is important not to give the tablet undissolved to avoid the risk of accidental ingestion into the airways.

The duration of use is determined by the doctor.If insufficient amounts of fluoride and vitamin D are consumed from food over the long term, the medicine should be taken until the end of the second year of life.

Contraindications

Zymafluor D 500 C.C.must not be used if there is known hypersensitivity to sodium fluoride, colecalciferol, soy, peanut or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used if there is increased calcium in the blood or urine, restricted mobility or if fluoride is supplied in another way.

Side effects

If used correctly, no side effects are to be expected.Soybean oil can very rarely cause allergic reactions.

Storage

The medicine should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and kept out of the reach of children.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the folding box and blister.
