Areas of application

Lophakomp-Procaine 2 ml is a local anesthetic medicine known as an ester-type local anesthetic.It is specifically used for intracutaneous application in healthy skin, for example as part of neural therapy treatments.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Lophakomp-Procaine 2 ml is procaine hydrochloride.Each milliliter of solution for injection contains 20 mg of procaine hydrochloride, which corresponds to 40 mg per ampoule.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: sodium edetate, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid 3.6% and water for injection purposes.

Contraindications

Lophakomp-Procaine 2 ml must not be used if you are hypersensitive to procaine, other ester-type local anesthetics, sulfonamides, benzoic acid or any of the other ingredients.Use is also contraindicated in cases of known pseudocholinesterase deficiency or for injection into arteries, epidural or spinal.

Dosage and application

Lophakomp-Procaine 2 ml should be used by a doctor.The injection solution is injected intracutaneously and is only intended for one-time use.The dosage depends on individual needs and should be chosen as low as possible to achieve the desired nerve block.

The usual dose for adolescents over 15 and adults is up to 10 mg of procaine per wheal.The maximum dose depends on the area of application and should not exceed 500 mg of procaine, unless it concerns the head, neck or genital area, where the maximum dose is 200 mg within two hours.

For patients with certain previous illnesses, such as arteriosclerosis or nerve damage caused by diabetes, the dose should be reduced by a third.Elderly people or patients with impaired liver or kidney function may require an adjusted dosage.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Lophakomp-Procain 2 ml can have side effects.Possible undesirable effects affect the central nervous and cardiovascular systems.Allergic reactions, local skin irritations and systemic effects such as restlessness, impaired consciousness or seizures can occur.If you notice any side effects, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and precautions

Particular caution is required in patients with myasthenia gravis, cardiac conduction disorders or cardiac muscle weakness.The doctor should ensure good circulatory refill and monitoring and have ventilation and resuscitation measures in place before use.Interactions should be taken into account when taking other medicines at the same time.

During pregnancy, Lophakomp-Procaine 2 ml should only be used if absolutely necessary.During breastfeeding, procaine hydrochloride is excreted in breast milk, but with short-term use it is usually not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Note the expiry date on the folding box and the ampoule label.Discard the leftovers after opening.
