Area of application

Sabalvit is a herbal medicine that is used for urinary problems due to a benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia).It helps with micturition problems in stages I to II according to Alken or II to III according to Vahlensieck.It is important that treatment with Sabalvit should only take place after a confirmed diagnosis and under medical supervision.The medication relieves the symptoms, but does not eliminate the enlargement of the prostate.If you experience symptoms such as blood in the urine, urinary tract infection, worsening of symptoms or acute urinary retention, you should consult a doctor immediately.

Each Sabalvit soft capsule contains 160 mg thick extract from saw palmetto fruits (9-11:1), with ethanol 96% (V/V) serving as the extractant.The other ingredients include gelatin polysuccinate, glycerol 85%, purified water, as well as the dyes titanium dioxide (E 171) and iron (III) oxide hydrate, black (E 172).

Contraindications

Sabalvit must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to saw palmetto fruits or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The medicine is not intended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.Since Sabalvit is only indicated for men, it should not be taken by women unless specifically recommended by a doctor.

Dosage

Adults should take Sabalvit according to the instructions.The usual dosage is 1 soft capsule twice a day, corresponding to 160 mg of saw palmetto fruit extract twice a day.The capsules should be taken whole with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water, after meals.The duration of use is not limited, but regular visits to the doctor should be made.In the event of an overdose, there are no specific overdose symptoms known, but you should always contact your doctor.If you forget to take a dose, continue taking it as prescribed without doubling the dose.
