Instructions for use of Craton film-coated tablets

Craton film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves as the active ingredient.This extract is prepared with acetone 60% (m/m) and contains specific amounts of flavon glycosides and terpene lactones, including ginkgolides A, B, C and bilobalide.The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 1500, talc, titanium dioxide, iron (III) oxide, simeticone and sorbic acid.

Areas of application

Craton film-coated tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept in the event of a decline or loss of acquired mental abilities (dementia syndrome).The main complaints include memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.The preparation is also used to extend pain-free walking distance in cases of arterial occlusive disease in the limbs (intermittent claudication) as well as in cases of dizziness and to support the treatment of ringing in the ears (tinnitus).

Dosage and application

Adults should take 2 film-coated tablets twice a day, equivalent to 120 mg ginkgo extract per day.It is taken in the morning and evening, regardless of meals.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water.In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain disorders, the treatment duration should be at least 8 weeks.In the case of arterial occlusive disease, a treatment period of at least 6 weeks is required.For dizziness, use should not last longer than 6 to 8 weeks, while supportive treatment for tinnitus should last at least 12 weeks.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Craton film-coated tablets can have side effects.Mild gastrointestinal complaints, headaches or allergic skin reactions have been observed very rarely.With long-term use, bleeding has been reported very rarely, the causal connection with the intake of ginkgo preparations has not been established.Tell your doctor if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

Contraindications

Craton film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to Ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy.Children under 18 years of age have not been adequately examined, so the product should not be used in this age group.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the carton or container.
