What is Cynara AL and what is it used for?

Cynara AL is a herbal medicine used for digestive problems.It is used to treat digestive problems, especially in functional disorders of the biliary system.No prescription is required for this product.

How is Cynara AL used?

Always take Cynara AL exactly as directed in this leaflet.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take 1 hard capsule of Cynara AL whole 3 times a day with main meals with sufficient liquid (preferably 1 glass of water).

The duration of use is not generally limited, but depends on the course of the symptoms.Please note the information under section 2. “Take special care when taking Cynara AL ”.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Cynara AL is too strong or too weak.

Type of application

Take the medicine with liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water).

Duration of application

In principle, the duration of the application is not limited in time.You should not use the medicine for longer than 1 week without medical advice.If you have long-lasting or recurring symptoms, you should consult your doctor.

Overdose

An overdose can, among other things, cause diarrhea.If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.

Forgot to take it

Continue taking the medication as normal (i.e. not double the amount) at the next prescribed time.

How to store Cynara AL?

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the folding box and the blister pack after “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Do not store above + 30°C.

Do not throw away medicines via wastewater or household waste.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.In doing so, you contribute to protecting the environment.

What Cynara AL contains

The active ingredient is artichoke leaf dry extract.1 hard capsule contains 400 mg artichoke leaf dry extract (4 - 6: 1).Extractant: water.

The other ingredients are: gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, purified water, chlorophyll-copper complex (E 141), titanium dioxide (E 171).

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to artichoke leaf dry extract or artichokes, other composite plants or any of the other ingredients, if the bile ducts are blocked, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

There are no sufficient studies on its use in children, which is why the product must not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Side effects

Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for the drug.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

Be careful if you are allergic to daisy plants, e.g. arnica, marigold, yarrow, echinacea and chamomile.Be careful if you have an intolerance to lactose.If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should consider the sugar content.

There may be medicines with which interactions occur.You should therefore generally tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with a new medicine that you are already using.This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only use occasionally or that were used some time ago.

Mode of action

The ingredients come from the artichoke plant and act as a natural mixture.The artichoke is a strong, thistle-like plant about the height of a man with purple flower heads that occurs in Europe.The main ingredients are cynarin, flavonoids and sesquiterpenes.Extract or juice from fresh or dried leaves are used.

The ingredients in the artichoke stimulate the flow of bile and thus support fat digestion, reducing blood lipid levels.Artichoke also has a liver-protective effect by intercepting harmful substances.
