Instructions for use of Kamillosan ointment

Kamillosan ointment is a herbal medicine for external use for inflammatory skin and mucous membrane changes.The active ingredient is a dry extract from chamomile flowers, which has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and wound healing properties.The ointment is suitable for use in inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes, including in the anal and genital areas, as well as for the treatment of hemorrhoids.

Application and dosage

Kamillosan ointment is applied thinly to the affected skin and mucous membrane areas several times a day.The duration of use depends on the type, severity and course of the disease.The ointment should not be used for longer than 14 days without medical advice.If there is no improvement within 3 days or if there is evidence of a bacterial infection, a doctor should be consulted.

Composition

1 g of ointment contains dry extract from chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutita L.) (15-25:1) 4.3 mg as the active ingredient.Extracting agent: Ethanol 95.4% (V/V) (containing 0.22% sodium acetate trihydrate and 0.12% sodium hydroxide).The other ingredients are highly disperse silicon dioxide, wool wax (contains butylated hydroxytoluene), yellow petroleum jelly, glycerol, purified water, perfumes, benzyl alcohol, citral, citronellol, D-limonene, geraniol and linalool.

Warnings and precautions

Kamillosan ointment contains wool wax and butylhydroxytoluene.If you are allergic to spices or daisy plants, the ointment should be used with caution.Antioxidants and wool wax alcohols can cause skin irritation.When used in the genital or anal area, the tear resistance of latex condoms may be reduced due to the additive Vaseline.

Storage

The medicine must be protected from heat and kept out of the reach of children.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the container and folding box.After opening or preparation, the medicine should be used for a maximum of 12 months and stored at room temperature.
