Lefax Extra liquid capsules are a defoamer used for the symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints.These may include bloating, bloating, belching, functional dyspepsia, cramp-like epigastric pain, postoperative gas-related pain, and irritable bowel syndrome.The capsules are also used to prepare for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area, such as endoscopy, x-rays and sonography.

Application and dosage

Lefax Extra liquid capsules should always be taken exactly as directed in the instructions for use.For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, adults and adolescents aged 14 and over can take 1 to 2 soft capsules, equivalent to 125 to 250 mg simeticone, up to 3 to 6 soft capsules daily.To prepare for imaging examinations, it is recommended to take 2 to 3 soft capsules the day before the examination and 1 soft capsule the morning of the examination.

The capsules are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid during or after meals, or before going to bed if necessary.The duration of application depends on the course of the symptoms and can also be carried out over a longer period of time if necessary.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each soft capsule contains 125 mg simeticone as active ingredient.The other ingredients are gelatin, glycerol 85% and quinoline yellow (E104).Simeticon only works locally in the gastrointestinal tract and is gentle on the stomach and intestines.It frees the air trapped in the gastrointestinal tract and prevents the formation of new air.

Side effects and precautions

Side effects associated with the use of Lefax Extra liquid capsules have not been observed to date.The active ingredient Simeticon causes the foam in the gastrointestinal tract to dissolve purely physically and is chemically and biologically ineffective.Poisoning is therefore practically impossible and even large quantities of the capsules are tolerated without any problems.

Lefax Extra liquid capsules must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to Simeticon or any of the other ingredients.There are no concerns about taking it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Children under 14 years should not take this product.There are no known interactions with other medications, but the capsules should not be taken immediately after gastrointestinal surgery.

Storage and shelf life

This product must be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date stated on the outer carton under “Use by”.Lefax Extra liquid capsules should be stored at room temperature and in a dry place.
