Instructions for use of isopropyl alcohol 70% V/V Hofmann's

Isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's is a disinfectant suitable for various applications.It is used for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection, for skin disinfection before simple injections and punctures of peripheral vessels, as well as before operations and punctures of joints.It is also suitable for disinfecting skin rich in sebaceous glands and for preparing cooling compresses.No prescription is required for this product.

Important notes

Isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's must not be used if you are hypersensitive to isopropyl alcohol.It is not suitable for disinfecting open wounds or storing sterile instruments and syringes.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.There are no known interactions with other products.

Application

Always use isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's exactly as described in this leaflet or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.For hygienic hand disinfection, rub your hands with the solution and keep them moist for 30 seconds.For surgical hand disinfection, rub hands and forearms and keep them moist for 5 minutes.For disinfection before simple injections and punctures of peripheral vessels, rub the skin carefully and keep it moist for 15 seconds.To disinfect before operations and punctures of joints, rub the skin carefully and keep it moist for 1 minute.To disinfect skin rich in sebaceous glands, rub the skin carefully and keep it moist for 10 minutes.For cooling compresses, dilute the solution with equal parts water.

Side effects

Like all medicines, isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include redness and slight burning of the skin when rubbed.If you notice any side effects, stop taking the product and contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the label.Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from sources of ignition.If the solution is spilled, take immediate measures to prevent fire and explosion, such as collecting the spilled liquid, diluting it with water, ventilating the room and eliminating sources of ignition.The solution evaporates easily, so you should close the bottle immediately after use.
