AKNICHTHOL is a lotion for use on the skin that is used to reduce the number of comedones in mild and moderate acne vulgaris.The active ingredient sodium bituminosulfonate (ichthyol sodium), light belongs to the group of sulfonated slate oils and has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect.The lotion helps to counteract the formation of pustules and the formation of acne scars.

AKNICHTHOL Lotion (pack size: 30 g) reduces skin signs in mild and moderate acne vulgaris in adolescents and adults.The lotion is used to treat mild skin inflammation with blackheads (acne comedonica).

Mode of action

Triggered by oily skin and hormonal fluctuations, acne can severely impact body image.Incorrect skin cell formation causes the duct of the hair follicle to become blocked, so that sebum and acne bacteria cannot escape to the outside.The sebaceous gland bulges and blackheads and pimples appear. AKNICHTHOL Lotion helps to counteract the formation of pustules and the formation of acne scars.

1 g emulsion of AKNICHTHOL lotion (pack size: 30 g) contains 1 mg sodium bituminosulfonate, light. Other ingredients are salicylic acid, medium-chain triglycerides, macrogol-4-lauryl ether, 2-propanol, corn starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxides and iron (III) hydroxide oxide (E 172),Lavender oil and purified water.

Contraindications

AKNICHTHOL must not be used if you are allergic to sulfonated shale oils such as ammonium bituminosulfonate and/or sodium bituminosulfonate, salicylic acid and salicylates or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not permitted.The medicine must not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, 20 drops of AKNICHTHOL lotion are applied twice daily to a cotton pad or facial tissue and distributed evenly over the affected skin areas.If the condition is severe, the lotion can also be used more frequently.The duration of treatment should be a maximum of 12 weeks.Before use, the affected skin areas should be cleaned with a mild skin cleanser and carefully dried.The swab is pulled over the affected areas of skin under light pressure until the liquid is evenly distributed.Eyelids and lips should be avoided.In the beard area, the lotion is applied in the direction of beard growth.The bottle should be shaken before use.

Side effects

Like all medicines, AKNICHTHOL can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Very rarely, contact allergies and skin intolerance reactions such as itching, burning and redness can occur.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep AKNICHTHOL out of the reach of children and do not store the medicine above 25°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the label and carton.After opening, you can use the medicine until the expiry date.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
