Soventol Gel with the active ingredient Bamipin is used to relieve mild to moderate reactions to insect bites, such as mosquito bites.Typical symptoms such as itching, swelling and redness can be alleviated by the gel.The product is available without a prescription.

Soventol Gel contains 20 mg bamipine lactate and 15.14 mg bamipine per gram. Hypromellose, poly(oxyethylene)-6-glycerol (mono/di)alkanoate (C8-C10), propylene glycol and purified water are included as excipients.Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to bamipine lactate or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The gel should also not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dosage

Apply the gel thinly to the affected skin areas several times a day.If necessary, the application can be repeated at half-hour intervals.The duration of use depends on the severity of the symptoms.Symptoms of overdose are not to be expected when used as intended.

Patient information

Particular caution is required for insect bites with extremely painful swelling and redness.In such cases, a doctor should be consulted immediately.If you have general symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness or cardiovascular problems, immediate medical treatment is required.In the case of weeping acute eczema, there is a risk of exacerbation.

Pregnancy

There are no clinical data for bamipine lactate in pregnant women, therefore the medicine must not be used during pregnancy.The gel should also not be used during breastfeeding, as it is not known whether bamipin lactate passes into breast milk.
