Protagent eye drops are an artificial tear fluid.They are used for the symptomatic treatment of dry eyes.For contact lens wearers, the specific instructions for this group must be observed.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The eye drops contain 20 mg of Povidone K25 as the active ingredient.Excipients include boric acid, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, purified water and benzalkonium chloride.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you have already had a hypersensitive reaction to povidone or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.1 drop is instilled into the conjunctival sac up to 5 times a day, or more frequently if necessary.In the symptomatic therapy of dry eyes, the duration of use depends on the clinical picture.Please consult your doctor about this.

Intake

It is applied to the eyes.Tilt your head back slightly, look up and pull your lower eyelid away with your index finger.Drip a drop into the conjunctival sac from above without letting the tip of the bottle come into contact with the eye or the edge of the eyelid.If a drop does not get into the eye, try again.

Patient information

Slight blurred vision may occur for a short time after use.You should only drive a car, work without a secure footing or operate machines again when these symptoms have subsided.

Other

The eye drops contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride, which can cause eye irritation and damage the cornea, especially if used frequently and for a long time.Preservative-free medicines should therefore be preferred for the long-term treatment of chronic dry conjunctivitis.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.You must not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and container.After first opening the container, Protagent should not be used for longer than 4 weeks.
