Area of application
Calcium Verla 600 mg is a mineral preparation that is used to prevent calcium deficiency when there is an increased need, such as during growth, pregnancy or breastfeeding.It also supports the treatment of osteoporosis.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient in Calcium Verla 600 mg is calcium carbonate.Each film-coated tablet contains 1500 mg calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 600 mg calcium.The other ingredients include carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), povidone (K 25), microcrystalline cellulose, sodium dodecyl sulfate, magnesium stearate, stearic acid, hypromellose, thin paraffin and titanium dioxide.Calcium Verla 600 mg contains no gluten and no lactose.
Contraindications
Calcium Verla 600 mg must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium carbonate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The preparation should also not be used if calcium concentrations in the blood or urine are too high, if there are calcium-containing kidney stones or calcium deposits in the kidneys.Children under 6 years of age should not take the medicine.
Dosage
The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is 1 film-coated tablet 1 to 2 times daily, corresponding to 600 to 1200 mg calcium.Children aged 6 years and over should take 1 film-coated tablet once a day.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water.They can be taken with food or between meals.It should be taken long-term, especially when treating calcium deficiency and osteoporosis.In the event of an overdose, no treatment is usually required unless symptoms occur.In this case you should contact your doctor.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose, but continue taking it at the next prescribed time.
Intake
Please take the film-coated tablets whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of water).You can take Calcium Verla 600 mg with food or between meals.The notch is not for dividing the tablet.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking Calcium Verla 600 mg if you have impaired kidney function, kidney stones and kidney calcification, increased calcium excretion in the urine and reduced phosphate concentration in the blood.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Calcium Verla 600 mg.Taking Calcium Verla 600 mg increases the excretion of calcium in the urine.In the first few months after starting to take the medication, this increases the tendency for calcium salts to precipitate and, under certain circumstances, for stones to form in the kidneys and urinary bladder.This can be avoided by drinking plenty of fluids.
Pregnancy
Calcium Verla 600 mg can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
