Instructions for use of Candio HERMAL ointment

Candio HERMAL ointment is a yeast-specific antifungal that is used for non-weeping skin infections caused by nystatin-sensitive yeasts.These can affect, for example, the hands, feet, nails, corners of the mouth, the external auditory canal as well as the anal and genital areas.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Candio HERMAL ointment is nystatin.Each gram of the ointment contains 100,000 international units (IU) of nystatin.The ointment also contains polyethylene and viscous paraffin (5:95) as other ingredients.

Areas of application

Candio HERMAL ointment is used for various fungal infections caused by yeast fungi.These include fungal infections of the skin, in the folds of the body, on the palms of the hands, on the nail walls, athlete's foot, fungal infections between the toes or fingers, in the corners of the mouth and in the genital and anal areas.

Dosage and application

Apply the ointment to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.If there is apparent resistance to therapy, it can be used more frequently, even hourly in severe cases.Treatment should be continued for approximately 6 days until the disease subsides.To ensure complete therapeutic success, treatment should be continued for another 8-10 days.

If you use more ointment than you should, the side effects known to nystatin may occur.There are no known symptoms of poisoning.If you forget to use, continue using as usual at the next prescribed time without using a double dose.

Contraindications

Candio HERMAL ointment must not be used if you are allergic to nystatin, related active ingredients such as amphotericin B or natamycin, or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.If hypersensitivity occurs, such as itching or burning, you should discontinue the medication and consult a doctor.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Candio HERMAL ointment can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions such as burning and redness may occur.If side effects occur, you should stop using the ointment and consult a doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Nystatin is considered safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage

Keep the ointment out of the reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube.Do not store the ointment above 25°C and do not use it for longer than 6 months after first opening the tube.
