Areas of application

GeloMyrtol forte gastro-resistant soft capsules are used to dissolve mucus and facilitate coughing in acute and chronic bronchitis.They also help to loosen mucus in cases of inflammation of the nasal sinuses (sinusitis).The product is suitable for adults, teenagers and children aged 6 and over.It contains sorbitol.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients

The active ingredient in GeloMyrtol forte is a distillate of a mixture of rectified eucalyptus oil, rectified sweet orange oil, rectified myrtle oil and rectified lemon oil in a ratio of 66:32:1:1.

Other components

In addition to the active ingredients, GeloMyrtol forte also contains refined rapeseed oil, gelatin, glycerol 85%, sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing), hypromellose acetate succinate, triethyl citrate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, talc, dextrin and ammonium glycyrrhizate.

Mode of action

The effect of GeloMyrtol forte is based on the special combination of high-quality essential oils.In a special process, a special distillate is obtained from four different plants: eucalyptus, sweet orange, myrtle and lemon.The purely herbal active ingredient works like an inhalation from the inside.The natural self-cleaning powers of the respiratory tract are activated: the mucus in the bronchi and paranasal sinuses is loosened, the bronchi relax and the pathogens are fought.

Dosage and application

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and young people aged 12 and over take 1 capsule 3-4 times a day for acute illnesses and one capsule 2-3 times a day for chronic illnesses.Children aged 10-12 years (30-43 kg) take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day for acute illnesses and 1 capsule 2 times a day for chronic illnesses.Children aged 6-10 years (20-29 kg) take 1 capsule twice a day for acute illnesses and 1 capsule 1-2 times daily for chronic illnesses.Children under 6 years (13-19 kg) take 1 capsule once a day for acute and chronic illnesses.The capsules should be taken half an hour before eating with plenty of cold liquid.

Contraindications

This product must not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, particularly to Myrtol, eucalyptus oil, sweet orange oil, myrtle oil, lemon oil and/or cineole (from eucalyptus oil), inflammatory diseases in the gastrointestinal area and bile ducts, or severe liver diseases.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be carried out after careful risk-benefit assessment by a doctor.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the medication if symptoms persist for a long time or worsen, if shortness of breath occurs, fever or if there is purulent or bloody sputum.In these cases, a doctor should be consulted immediately.The capsules must not be opened to treat children and the capsule contents must not be used for inhalation or mixed with children's food or drinks.Patients with bronchial asthma, whooping cough or other respiratory diseases that are associated with severe hypersensitivity of the airways should only take the preparation after consulting their doctor.

Pregnancy

Since there are no studies on pregnant women, the medicine may only be prescribed during pregnancy after the doctor has carefully weighed the benefits and risks.Due to the fat-soluble properties of the active ingredients, it is to be expected that they will pass into breast milk.Therefore, the medicine must not be used during breastfeeding.
