Area of application

InfectoPedicul is a solution for the one-time external treatment of the hair in the event of an infestation with head lice (Pediculus capitis).The active ingredient permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethrins, which act against parasites.No prescription is required for this product.

InfectoPedicul contains 430 mg permethrin per 100 ml as active ingredient.The other ingredients are ethanol 96%, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate and purified water.The solution contains approximately 39% ethanol (alcohol) by volume, which is flammable and may cause skin irritation.

Contraindications

InfectoPedicul must not be used if you are allergic to permethrin, other pyrethrins or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.As a rule, the medicine should not be used in infants in the first two months of life.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should ask their doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.

Dosage

Always use InfectoPedicul exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The amount required depends on the thickness of the hair: For short hair, about 25 ml is sufficient, for longer hair, about 50 ml is required, and for very long and thick hair, more (up to 150 ml for adults and children aged 4 and over).Children up to 3 years should not receive more than 25 ml.Before use, wash your hair with shampoo but no conditioner and towel dry.Massage InfectoPedicul evenly into slightly damp hair, especially near the scalp.Leave the solution to work on uncovered hair for 30-45 minutes and then wash it out with clean, warm water.After rinsing, comb the hair thoroughly with a nit comb to remove dead lice and nits.

Intake

Before use, wash your hair with shampoo but no conditioner and towel dry.Place a fresh, light-colored towel over your shoulders.Massage InfectoPedicul evenly into slightly damp hair, especially near the scalp.Long and particularly thick hair should be separated and treated in strands.Only use InfectoPedicul undiluted and not together with shampoo, soap or other care products.Leave the solution to work on uncovered hair for 30-45 minutes and then wash it out with clean, warm water.After rinsing, comb the hair thoroughly with a nit comb to remove dead lice and nits.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using InfectoPedicul if you have allergies to chrysanthemums or other composite plants.Treatment should only be carried out if lice eggs or live lice are detected.InfectoPedicul is for external use only and must not be swallowed.Due to the alcohol content, InfectoPedicul can cause irritation when it comes into contact with the eyes, mucous membranes or open wounds.Be careful not to let the solution come into contact with these areas.In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.InfectoPedicul can worsen the symptoms of asthma or skin inflammation.Children up to 3 years of age should only be treated under close medical supervision.As an insecticide, InfectoPedicul is harmful to all types of insects and aquatic creatures.Make sure that InfectoPedicul does not get into aquariums and terrariums.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using InfectoPedicul.Expanded experience with the use of permethrin in pregnant women has shown no evidence of adverse health effects.As a precautionary measure, you should only use InfectoPedicul during pregnancy as directed by your doctor.Permethrin can pass into breast milk.For precautionary reasons, you should take a break from breastfeeding for 3 days after use.
