Area of application

InfectoPedicul is a solution for the one-time external treatment of the hair in the event of an infestation with head lice (Pediculus capitis).The active ingredient permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethrins, which act against parasites.

InfectoPedicul contains 430 mg of permethrin as an active ingredient.The excipients are ethanol 96%, isopropyl alcohol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate-2-water, propylene glycol and purified water.The solution contains approximately 39% ethanol (alcohol) by volume.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to permethrin, other pyrethrins or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.As a rule, the medicine should not be used in infants in the first 2 months of life.

Dosage

As a rule, a single application of InfectoPedicul is sufficient.The amount required depends on the thickness of the hair: For short hair, about 25 ml is sufficient, for longer hair, about 50 ml is required, and for very long and thick hair, more (up to 150 ml for adults and children aged 4 and over).For children from the age of 2 months up to the age of 3 years, no more than 25 ml should be used.

Intake

Before use, wash your hair with shampoo but no conditioner and towel dry.Place a fresh, light-colored towel over your shoulders.Massage InfectoPedicul evenly into hair that is still slightly damp.Make sure that the hair near the scalp is particularly well wetted with InfectoPedicul.Long and particularly thick hair should be separated and treated in strands.Let InfectoPedicul work on uncovered hair for 30-45 minutes and then wash it out with clear, warm water.

Patient information

InfectoPedicul is for external use only and must not be swallowed.Due to the alcohol content, InfectoPedicul is flammable and can cause irritation if it comes into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes.Be careful not to let the solution come into contact with these areas.In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.InfectoPedicul can worsen the symptoms of asthma or skin inflammation.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Permethrin, the active ingredient in InfectoPedicul, can pass into breast milk.For precautionary reasons, you should take a break from breastfeeding for 3 days after use.
