Lamotte Refined Castor Oil is used for short-term use for constipation.The oil is obtained from the seeds of the tropical miracle tree (Ricinus communis) and has known laxative properties for centuries.

Mode of action

Contraindications

Lamotte refined castor oil must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredient, abdominal pain of unknown cause, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, intestinal obstruction, biliary tract diseases and acute dehydration.The product is not suitable for children under 10 years and should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children aged 10 and over should take half to a full tablespoon (5-10 ml) of Lamotte refined castor oil as a single dose in the morning on an empty stomach.The exact dosage should be the lowest possible to achieve soft-formed stools.
