Microlax® rectal solution is a laxative that is used for short-term use in constipation and in diseases that require easier evacuation of stools.It is also suitable for emptying the intestines during diagnostic or therapeutic measures in the rectum area.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Microlax® rectal solution relieves constipation within 5 to 20 minutes.The application is particularly hygienic and easy thanks to the minitube.The rectal solution releases the water present in the stool, softens the stool and does not affect intestinal activity, so there is no habituation effect.Due to its ease of use, Microlax® rectal solution can also be used on babies.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Microlax® rectal solution contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 64.5 mg dodecyl (sulfoacetate), sodium salt 70%, 450 mg sodium citrate, 120.26 mg sodium ion, 329.77 mg citrate ion, 4.47 g sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing), glycerol, purified water and sorbic acid.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to any component of the medicine or if you have an intestinal obstruction (ileus).

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1 mini enema for adults and children if necessary and half a mini enema for infants and young children under 3 years of age.One dosing unit is usually sufficient.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

Intake

Microlax® rectal solution is a disposable enema for rectal use.If only part of the enema contents is used, the remaining rectal solution should be discarded.In infants and small children under 3 years of age, the neck of the tube may only be inserted halfway.
