Areas of application

Neurapas® balance is a herbal medicine that is used for mild, temporary depressive disorders with nervous restlessness.It helps with depressive moods and nervous restlessness.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The film-coated tablets contain the following active ingredients: St. John's wort dry extract (60 mg), valerian root dry extract (28 mg) and passion flower herb dry extract (32 mg).The other ingredients include povidone K 30, lactose monohydrate, glycerol 85%, spray-dried glucose syrup, colloidal silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, talc, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium salt, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer (Eudragit E), macrogol 6000 and indigo carmine (E 132).

Contraindications

Neurapas® balance must not be used if you are also taking certain other medicines, such as ciclosporin, tacrolimus, proteinase inhibitors such as indinavir, cytostatics such as irinotecan, or anticoagulants such as warfarin.The medicine must not be used even if you are known to be allergic to one of the components.Due to insufficient research, Neurapas® balance must not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Dosage and application

Adults aged 18 and over should take two film-coated tablets three times a day without chewing with liquid.It can be taken regardless of meals.The duration of use is not limited, but if there is no improvement after 4 to 6 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.In the event of an overdose, the skin should be protected from sunlight and UV-radiation and a doctor should be consulted.

Side effects

Possible side effects include increased skin sensitivity to light, sunburn-like reactions, gastrointestinal complaints, fatigue, restlessness and allergic rashes.Not everyone gets these side effects and their frequency is not known.

Interactions

Neurapas® balance may interact with many other medicines, particularly those used to treat transplant rejection, HIV-infections, cancer and blood clotting.The effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives can also be reduced.Serotogenic effects can be increased when used simultaneously with other antidepressants.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to insufficient research, Neurapas® balance must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Women of childbearing age who are not using contraception should also not use the medicine unless pregnancy is ruled out.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 30°C.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.

Notes

Excessive UV-exposure should be avoided during use of Neurapas® balance.If you have impaired liver function, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.Medicines with a sedative effect can impair your ability to react, especially when combined with alcohol.
