Area of application

Neurapas® balance is a herbal medicine that is used for mild, temporary depressive disorders with nervous restlessness.It contains active ingredients such as St. John's wort dry extract, valerian root dry extract and passion flower herb dry extract.This product is available without a prescription.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 60 mg dry extract of St. John's wort, 28 mg dry extract of valerian roots and 32 mg dry extract of passion flower herb.In addition, the medicine contains excipients such as povidone K 30, lactose monohydrate, glycerol 85%, spray-dried glucose syrup, highly disperse silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, talc, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium salt, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer (Eudragit E), macrogol 6000 and indigo carmine (E 132).

Dosage and application

Adults aged 18 and over should take 2 film-coated tablets whole with liquid 3 times a day.It should be taken regardless of meals.The duration of use is generally not limited, but a doctor should be consulted after 4 to 6 weeks without improvement.

Contraindications

Neurapas® balance must not be used if you are taking certain other medicines at the same time, such as ciclosporin, tacrolimus, proteinase inhibitors, irinotecan, warfarin or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.The medicine is not suitable for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Side effects

Possible side effects include increased skin sensitivity to light, sunburn-like reactions, gastrointestinal complaints, fatigue, restlessness and allergic rashes.If you experience side effects, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Interactions

Neurapas® balance can interact with various medicines, including anti-rejection drugs, HIV-treatments, cytostatics, anticoagulants and other antidepressants.Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you take.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The medicine must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient examinations.Women of childbearing age who are not using contraception should only use the medicine after pregnancy has been ruled out.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and do not store it above 30°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.

Important notes

Avoid excessive UV-radiation while using Neurapas® balance.The effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives can be impaired, so additional contraceptive measures should be taken.If you have impaired liver function, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.

Medicines with a sedative effect can impair your ability to react.Patients who perceive an impairment should not actively participate in traffic or operate machines.
