Paracetamol HEUMANN 500 mg tablets for pain and fever contains the active ingredient paracetamol.One tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol.The other ingredients are pre-gelatinized starch (corn) and magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich].

Paracetamol HEUMANN 500 mg tablets for pain and fever is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches, period pains and/or fever.It is a painkiller and antipyretic medicine (analgesic and antipyretic).

Dosage

The dosage of paracetamol HEUMANN 500 mg tablets for pain and fever depends on body weight and age.Typically, a single dose of 10 to 15 mg/kg body weight is administered, but not more than 60 mg/kg body weight per day.The dosing interval should not be less than 6 hours.For children between 11 and 12 years old (33 kg - 43 kg), the single dose is 1 tablet (500 mg paracetamol) and the maximum daily dose is 4 tablets (2000 mg paracetamol).For people weighing 43 kg or more (children and adolescents aged 12 and over and adults) the single dose is 1 - 2 tablets (500 - 1000 mg paracetamol) and the maximum daily dose is 8 tablets (4000 mg paracetamol).

Intake

The medicine is taken whole with plenty of liquid.If symptoms last longer than 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Patient information

To avoid the risk of overdose, it should be ensured that medicines used at the same time do not contain paracetamol.Caution is advised when using paracetamol and flucloxacillin concomitantly as there is a slightly increased risk of anion gap metabolic acidosis.Patients at high risk of this condition should be monitored closely.

Pregnancy

Paracetamol should only be taken during pregnancy after carefully weighing the benefit-risk ratio.It should not be used for long periods of time, in high doses or in combination with other medicines, as the safety of use in these cases has not been established.Paracetamol passes into breast milk, but no adverse effects on the infant have been reported so far, so interrupting breastfeeding is usually not necessary.
