Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in Paracetamol plus Caffeine axicur® are paracetamol and caffeine.Each tablet contains 350 mg paracetamol and 50 mg caffeine.Other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose powder, pregelatinized starch, corn starch, povidone K25, carboxymethyl starch sodium type A, stearic acid (vegetable), magnesium stearate (vegetable) and colloidal silicon dioxide.

Area of application

Paracetamol plus caffeine axicur® is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains.It combines a painkiller and antipyretic agent with caffeine to provide quick relief.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age and people weighing 43 kg or more can take 1-2 tablets as a single dose, which corresponds to 350-700 mg of paracetamol and 50-100 mg of caffeine.The maximum daily dose is 8 tablets, which corresponds to 2800 mg paracetamol and 400 mg caffeine.The dosing interval should not be less than 6 hours.

In the case of liver or kidney dysfunction or Gilbert's syndrome, the dose must be reduced or the dose interval extended.In cases of severe renal insufficiency, a dosage interval of at least 8 hours should be maintained.There is not enough knowledge available for children under 12 years of age.

Always take the medicine exactly as directed and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.It should not be used for longer than 3 days without medical or dental advice.

Intake

The tablets are swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.Taking it after meals may result in a delayed onset of action.

Contraindications

The medicine should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it if you are a chronic alcoholic, suffer from impaired liver function, have a previously damaged kidney, have an overactive thyroid, have cardiac arrhythmias or suffer from anxiety disorders.If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days, or if you have a high fever, you should see a doctor.

To prevent the risk of overdose, you should ensure that other medicines used at the same time do not contain paracetamol.Long-term, high-dose, improper use of painkillers can cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased doses of the drug.

In general, the habitual use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.If painkillers are stopped abruptly after long-term, high-dose, improper use, headaches as well as fatigue, muscle pain, nervousness and vegetative symptoms may occur.The withdrawal symptoms subside within a few days.Until then, painkillers should not be taken again and should not be taken again without medical advice.

The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.Nevertheless, caution should always be exercised after taking painkillers.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.If necessary, the preparation can be used during pregnancy.You should use the lowest possible dose that relieves your pain and/or fever and use the medicine for the shortest possible time.If the pain and/or fever is not relieved or you need to take the medicine more frequently, contact your doctor or midwife.

Paracetamol and caffeine, the active ingredients of this preparation, pass into breast milk. Since there are no known adverse consequences for the infant, it is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.The infant's well-being and behavior can be affected by caffeine ingested through breast milk.With short-term use of the recommended dose, interruption of breast-feeding will usually not be necessary.If you use it for a long time or take higher doses, you should stop breastfeeding.
