GRIPPAL COMPLEX DoppelherzPharma 200 mg/30 mg film-coated tablets

The medicine helps relieve cold symptoms such as stuffy nose and sinuses, headache, and fever and cold-related pain.It helps you feel better again quickly.

Area of application

These film-coated tablets are suitable for the symptomatic treatment of swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose and sinuses in cases of cold-related pain and/or fever in adults and adolescents aged 15 and over.

Mode of action

The product contains two active ingredients: ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.Ibuprofen has pain-relieving, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride helps to reduce the swelling of the mucous membranes in the nose, making breathing easier.

Each film-coated tablet contains 200 mg ibuprofen and 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.The following other ingredients are also included: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate, croscarmellose sodium, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 400, talc, titanium dioxide and yellow iron (III) oxide hydrate.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

The recommended dosage applies to adults and adolescents aged 15 and over.The film-coated tablets are intended to be taken orally and should be swallowed whole with a large glass of water, preferably with meals.If necessary, one film-coated tablet can be taken every 6 hours.If symptoms are more severe, two film-coated tablets can be taken every 6 hours.The maximum daily dose of a total of 6 film-coated tablets (corresponding to 1200 mg ibuprofen and 180 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) must not be exceeded under any circumstances.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are to be taken orally.Swallow the film-coated tablets whole with a large glass of water, preferably with meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you suffer from asthma, have a history of gastrointestinal disorders, have or have suffered from a gastrointestinal disease, have high blood pressure, suffer from liver or kidney dysfunction, have diabetes, have an overactive thyroid or suffer from psychosis, or have a blood clotting disorder.

Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time.Older people are at increased risk of side effects.Concomitant use with other NSAR, including cyclooxygenase (COX)2-specific inhibitors, increases the risk of adverse reactions and should be avoided.

Anti-inflammatories/pain relievers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.

You should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have heart disease including heart failure and angina (chest pain), or have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (problems with blood flow in the legs or feet due to narrowed or blocked arteries), or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack ("TIA")).

Please remember that due to its pseudoephedrine component, the medicine should not be used in the following conditions: serious heart or circulatory problems (heart disease, high blood pressure, angina, fast heartbeat), hyperthyroidism, diabetes, pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal gland), history of heart attack (myocardial infarction), history of stroke or risk factors for stroke.

Prolonged use of any type of painkiller for headaches can make them worse.If this is the case or suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.The diagnosis of medication overuse headache (MOH) should be suspected in patients who suffer from frequent or daily headaches despite (or perhaps because of) taking regular headache medication.

Serious skin reactions, some fatal, including exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), have been reported very rarely in association with the use of NSAR .The highest risk of such reactions appears to be at the start of therapy, as in the majority of cases these reactions occurred in the first month of treatment.The drug should be discontinued at the first signs of a skin rash, mucosal lesions or other signs of hypersensitivity.

Pseudoephedrine may interfere with some diagnostic blood tests.Tell your doctor about taking this medicine if you are scheduled to have a blood test.

This medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated adolescents (adolescents who are dehydrated).

Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride can produce positive results in doping tests.

The medicine may cause dizziness, hallucinations, unusual headaches and problems with your vision or hearing, which may temporarily limit your ability to drive and use machines.If you experience any of these symptoms, you should avoid driving or using machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
