Mode of action

The active ingredient ibuprofen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and as such is able to reduce inflammation-related pain, swelling and fever.Its effect is based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.Prostaglandins are the body's own messenger substances that, among other things, mediate pain and inflammatory reactions.In conjunction with the amino acid lysine (as lysinate), ibuprofen can be absorbed more quickly by our body.This means that the onset of action is quicker than with conventional ibuprofen preparations.

Neuralgin extra Ibu-Lysinate contains as an active ingredient: 683.47 mg ibuprofen lysine salt (equivalent to 400 mg ibuprofen).Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, macrogol 300, magnesium distearate, poly(vinyl alcohol), highly dispersed silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide.

Many people suffer from lactose intolerance and often complain of flatulence, stomach pain, diarrhea and even nausea.Neuralgin® extra is made without lactose and is therefore suitable for people with lactose intolerance.The vegan painkillers are also gluten-free.

Dosage

Ibuprofen is dosed in children and adolescents depending on age and body weight.As a rule, the following applies: 7-10 mg/kg body weight as a single dose and a maximum of 30 mg/kg body weight as a total daily dose.Unless otherwise prescribed, take Neuralgin extra Ibu-Lysinate as follows:

Children aged 6-9 years (20-29 kg body weight): 1/2 tablet up to 3 times daily.Children aged 10-12 years (30-43 kg body weight): 1/2 tablet 3-4 times daily.Children aged 13-14 years (44-52 kg body weight): 1/2-1 tablet 2-3 times daily (max. 2 1/2 tablets per day).Adolescents aged 15 and over and adults: 1/2-1 tablet 3-4 times daily (max. 3 tablets per day).

The dosing interval is 6 hours.Neuralgin extra Ibu-Lysinate should be taken with liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water) during or after meals.

Intake

Please take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.For patients who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.

Notes

If children (from 6 years of age) and/or adolescents (from 12 years of age) need to take this medicine for more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.If you have pain or fever, do not use for longer than prescribed in the package leaflet without medical advice.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
