IBU-LYSIN DoppelherzPharma 400 mg film-coated tablets is a pharmacy-only medicine that is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.It is suitable for children weighing 20 kg or more (from 6 years), teenagers and adults.The preparation contains the active ingredient ibuprofen, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).Ibuprofen has a pain-relieving and fever-reducing effect.
A particular advantage of IBU-LYSIN DoppelherzPharma is the combination of ibuprofen with the amino acid lysine.Lysine promotes the absorption of ibuprofen in the body, which means the active ingredient can combat pain and fever more quickly.The effect lasts about 6 hours.

Active ingredients and ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg ibuprofen (as 684 mg ibuprofen-DL-lysine (1:1)).
Other components:
- Tablet core: Microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide coated, copovidone, carboxymethyl starch sodium (TYPE A) (Ph.Eur.), Magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) [pflanzlich]
- Film coating: Poly(vinyl alcohol) partially hydrolyzed, titanium dioxide (E171), talc, macrogol 4000, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) (Ph.Eur.), sodium hydrogen carbonate
Area of application
IBU-LYSIN DoppelherzPharma 400 mg film-coated tablets is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, as well as to reduce fever.It is suitable for children weighing 20 kg or more (from 6 years), teenagers and adults.
Dosage
The recommended dose depends on body weight and age:
- Children aged 6-9 years (20-29 kg): single dose 200 mg ibuprofen (½ film-coated tablet), total daily dose 600 mg ibuprofen (1 ½ film-coated tablets)
- Children aged 10-11 years (30-39 kg): single dose 200 mg ibuprofen (½ film-coated tablet), total daily dose 800 mg ibuprofen (2 film-coated tablets)
- Adolescents from 12 years and adults (from 40 kg): single dose 200-400 mg ibuprofen (½ - 1 film-coated tablet), total daily dose 1200 mg ibuprofen (3 film-coated tablets)
The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take it with meals.
Intake
- Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.
- If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.
Patient information
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product.
- Side effects can be minimized if the lowest effective dose needed to control symptoms is used for the shortest possible period of time.
- Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) should be avoided.
- Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring.
- Bleeding, ulcers and perforations in the gastrointestinal tract may occur.The risk is higher with increasing NSAR-dose, in patients with a history of ulcers and in elderly patients.
- Anti-inflammatory drugs/pain relievers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke.
- Severe skin reactions may occur.If you experience any signs of a serious skin reaction, you should stop taking it immediately and seek medical attention.
- The medicine may mask signs of infection.If symptoms of infection persist or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.
- In the case of certain congenital blood formation disorders and autoimmune diseases, the drug should only be used after careful consideration of the benefit-risk ratio.
- Particularly careful medical supervision is required in the case of allergies, chronic nasal mucous membrane swelling or chronic respiratory diseases, impaired kidney or liver function, dehydration or infections.
- Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions can occur in very rare cases.At the first signs of a hypersensitivity reaction, treatment must be discontinued.
- Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with coagulation disorders should be carefully monitored.
- If used for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.
- If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be consulted or informed.
- Prolonged use of painkillers can make headaches worse. If medication overuse headaches are suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.
- Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.
- Children weighing less than 20 kg are not allowed to take the product.There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated children and adolescents.
- Since side effects such as tiredness, dizziness and visual disturbances can occur when taking it, in individual cases the ability to react and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines may be impaired.This applies even more in combination with alcohol.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Pregnancy: Do not take the product if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.During the first 6 months of pregnancy, the medicine should only be taken as recommended by a doctor and in the lowest possible dose.
- Breastfeeding: The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.With short-term use of the recommended dose, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.
- Fertility: This product may impair fertility in women.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.
Storage instructions
Store cool (6-25 °C), dry and protected from light. IBU-LYSIN DoppelherzPharma 400 mg film-coated tablets should be kept out of the reach of children.
Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
If you have pain or fever, do not use it for longer than stated in the package leaflet without medical advice!
