Naproxen axicur® 250 mg tablets

This medicine contains the active ingredient naproxen, which has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.It is used for mild to moderate pain such as period pain, headache, toothache and fever.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Naproxen axicur 250 mg tablets have a pain-relieving effect on menstrual pain and its accompanying symptoms.The active ingredient naproxen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR) and helps to reduce inflammation and lower fever.

Each tablet contains 250 mg of the active ingredient naproxen.The following other ingredients are also included: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, iron (III) oxide, hyprolose, crospovidone and magnesium stearate.

Area of application

Naproxen axicur 250 mg tablets are used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever.This includes period pain, headache, toothache and fever.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is initially one tablet (250 mg naproxen).Additional single doses may be taken 8 to 12 hours apart, but no more than three tablets per day (750 mg naproxen).Patients with impaired liver or kidney function should not take more than two tablets per day.

The tablets should be taken whole with plenty of liquid, if possible before eating.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is advisable to take it with meals.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if the effect is too strong or too weak.

Intake

Take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid, preferably before meals.This promotes the onset of effect.If you have a sensitive stomach, you can also take the tablets with meals.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking naproxen.Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.Concomitant use of naproxen with other NSAR should be avoided.

Older patients are more likely to experience side effects, particularly bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines.Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.

Naproxen may temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with blood clotting disorders should therefore be carefully monitored.If naproxen is administered for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

If pregnancy is discovered while using naproxen, the doctor should be notified.You may only use naproxen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.Do not take the tablets if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy as this could harm your unborn baby or cause problems during birth.

The active ingredient naproxen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.As a precaution, naproxen should be avoided during breastfeeding.
