Instructions for use for Ibu 400 acute – 1 A Pharma® film-coated tablets, 30 pcs

Ibu 400 acute - 1 A Pharma® For mild to moderate pain and fever

Pain serves as an alarm signal and occurs acutely in a localized area of the body over a limited period of time.Depending on the intensity of the pain, this can become very restrictive and uncomfortable.Ibu 400 acute - 1 A Pharma® can help relieve mild to moderate pain (e.g. headaches, toothaches, period pains, back pain). Thanks to the active ingredient ibuprofen with its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, it can not only counteract pain but also reduce fever. This makes it also suitable for treating body aches and fever when you have a cold.On average, it only takes 30 to 45 minutes for the effect to take effect.

Ibu 400 acute - 1 A Pharma® is not only well tolerated, but is also suitable for use in children aged 6 and over (from 20 kg body weight).

Pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory

Ibuprofen is one of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR) and is a long-established active ingredient that is one of the most frequently used drugs in Germany.Pain and fever are sometimes triggered by inflammatory tissue hormones (prostaglandins). These are mainly caused by Cox enzymes (cyclooxygenases).Ibuprofen inhibits these enzymes and thereby the formation of prostaglandins.Ibuprofen has a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect.

Mode of action

The active ingredient ibuprofen inhibits the formation of prostaglandins in the body, which play a key role in the development of pain, fever and inflammation. The tablets have a pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing effect.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Ingredients of Ibu 400 acute - 1 A Pharma® film-coated tablets: 400 mg ibuprofen and as excipients: carmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium distearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. You should also not use the medication if you have had asthma attacks, nasal swelling or skin reactions to taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the past.Taking the drug is also contraindicated if you have stomach or intestinal ulcers and in the last three months of pregnancy.Children under 6 years of age should not take the product as the dosage is too high.

Dosage

Recommended use of Ibu 400 acute - 1 A Pharma® film-coated tablets: Children and adolescents aged 12 and over as well as adults take ½ - 1 tablet if necessary;the maximum daily dose of 3 tablets should not be exceeded.Children aged 10 to 12 receive ½ tablet if necessary. The maximum daily dose is 1 ½ - 2 tablets.Children aged 6 to 9 years receive ½ tablet if necessary. The maximum daily dose of 1 ½ tablets should not be exceeded.

In adults, if it is necessary to take this medicine for more than 3 days for fever or for more than 4 days for pain, or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought. In children weighing 20 kg or more (6 years of age) and adolescents, if it is necessary to take this medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.

Intake

Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your pharmacist before taking this medicine.Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose needed to control symptoms for the shortest period of time.

Concomitant use of this medicine with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including so-called COX-2 inhibitors (cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors), should be avoided.

Older patients are more likely to experience side effects after using NSAR , especially bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines, which can be life-threatening under certain circumstances. Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.

Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations, including fatal outcomes, have been reported during treatment with all NSAR .They occurred with or without previous warning symptoms or a history of serious gastrointestinal events at any time during therapy.

The risk of developing gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations is higher with increasing NSARdose, in patients with a history of ulcers, especially with the complications of bleeding or perforations, and in elderly patients. These patients should begin treatment at the lowest available dose.

For these patients, as well as for patients who require concomitant therapy with low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other drugs that may increase the risk of gastrointestinal diseases, combination therapy with drugs that protect the gastric mucosa (e.g. misoprostol or proton pump inhibitors) should be considered.

If you have a history of gastrointestinal side effects, especially if you are older, you should report any unusual abdominal symptoms (especially gastrointestinal bleeding), especially at the beginning of therapy.

Caution is advised if you are also receiving medicines that may increase the risk of ulcers or bleeding, such as:B. oral corticosteroids, anticoagulant medications such as warfarin, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which are used, among other things, to treat depressive moods, or platelet aggregation inhibitors such as ASA.

If you experience gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers while taking the medicine, treatment should be discontinued.

NSAR should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), as their condition may worsen.

Anti-inflammatories/pain relievers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.

You should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have heart disease, including heart failure and angina (chest pain), or have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (circulation problems in the legs or feet due to narrowed or blocked arteries), or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack ("TIA")).

Have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease or stroke, or if you are a smoker.

Serious skin reactions with redness and blistering, some fatal, have been reported very rarely with NSARtherapy (exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis/Lyell syndrome). The highest risk of such reactions appears to be at the start of therapy, as in the majority of cases these reactions occurred in the first month of treatment. At the first sign of skin rashes, mucous membrane defects or other signs of a hypersensitivity reaction, Aktren Forte should be discontinued and the doctor should be consulted immediately.

Use of this medicine should be avoided during a chickenpox infection (varicella infection).

This medicine should only be used after careful consideration of the benefit-risk ratio: in certain congenital blood formation disorders (e.g. acute intermittent porphyria);in certain autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus and mixed connective tissue disease), as these patients have an increased risk of aseptic meningitis.

Particularly careful medical monitoring is required: if kidney function is impaired, as this may worsen further;with liver dysfunction;Liver dysfunction increases the risk of developing kidney toxicity and damage, as well as serious, possibly fatal liver reactions;immediately after major surgical procedures;in case of allergies (e.g. Skin reactions to other medicines, asthma, hay fever), chronic swelling of the nasal mucosa or chronic respiratory diseases that narrow the airways.

Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. anaphylactic shock) are very rarely observed. At the first signs of a severe hypersensitivity reaction after taking Aktren Forte, therapy must be discontinued.Medically necessary measures appropriate to the symptoms must be initiated by specialists.

Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in this medicine, may temporarily inhibit platelet function (platelet aggregation).Patients with blood clotting disorders should therefore be carefully monitored.

If medicines containing ibuprofen are used at the same time, the anticoagulant effect of low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (preventing the formation of blood clots) may be impaired. In this case, you should therefore not use medicines containing ibuprofen without your doctor's express instructions.

If you are simultaneously taking medicines to inhibit blood clotting or to lower blood sugar, blood clotting or blood sugar levels should be checked as a precaution.

If this medication is administered for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.

If you take this medicine before surgical procedures, you should consult or inform your doctor or dentist.

Prolonged use of any type of painkiller for headaches can make them worse. If this is the case or suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued. The diagnosis of Medication Overuse Headache (MOH) should be suspected in patients who suffer from frequent or daily headaches despite (or precisely because) they regularly take medication for headaches.

In general, the habitual use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure (analgesic nephropathy).

When using NSAR , simultaneous consumption of alcohol can increase drug-related side effects, especially those affecting the gastrointestinal tract or the central nervous system.

There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated children and adolescents.

Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when using the drug in higher doses, in individual cases the ability to react can be changed and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines can be impaired. This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol. You can then no longer react quickly and specifically enough to unexpected and sudden events. In this case, do not drive a car or other vehicles!Do not operate any tools or machines!Do not work without a secure hold!

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

If pregnancy is discovered while using this medicine, the doctor should be notified. You may only use ibuprofen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor. This medicine must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.

The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since there are no known adverse consequences for the infant, it is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding if used for a short period of time. However, if longer use or higher doses are prescribed, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.

This medicine belongs to a group of medicines (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that may affect women's fertility. This effect is reversible (reversible) once the drug is discontinued.
