Vitamin B6 ratiopharm 40 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient pyridoxine hydrochloride.This vitamin preparation is used to prevent and treat vitamin B6 deficiency.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Vitamin B6 ratiopharm 40 mg is used in adults to prevent and treat peripheral neuropathy (inflammation of the nerves) caused by a vitamin B6 deficiency.This deficiency can arise from taking certain medicines such as isoniazid, D-penicillamine or cycloserine.The preparation is also used to treat pyridoxine-dependent disorders, which can be treated by increasing doses of vitamin B6.These include rare diseases such as primary hyperoxaluria type I, homocystinuria, cystathioninuria, xanthurenic aciduria, sideroblastic anemia and vitamin B6 deficiency-related hypochromic microcytic anemia.

In children and adolescents, Vitamin B6-ratiopharm 40 mg is used to treat peripheral neuropathy caused by a vitamin B6 deficiency caused by medication.It is also used for maintenance therapy after convulsions caused by vitamin B6 deficiency in newborns and infants and for the treatment of pyridoxine-dependent disorders in children over 1 year old.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 40 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, corn starch, macrogol 8000, copovidone, talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, glycerol 85%, titanium dioxide and iron (III) oxide.
