Vitamin B6 20 mg JENAPHARM

Vitamin B6 20 mg JENAPHARM belongs to the group of B vitamins.It is used to treat vitamin B6 deficiency.No prescription is required for this product.

To avoid vitamin B6 deficiency, a daily intake of 1.6 mg for men and 1.4 mg for women is required.During pregnancy, the recommended daily intake is 1.5 mg in the first trimester and 1.8 mg in the second and third trimesters.During breastfeeding it is 1.6 mg per day.There may be an increased need if you take certain medications for a long time, or if you have illnesses or metabolic disorders.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each tablet contains 20 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride as the active ingredient.The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, potato starch, talc, carboxymethyl starch sodium, gelatin, magnesium stearate, quinoline yellow (E 104), sodium chloride, indigo carmine (E 132) and yellow orange S (E 110).

Area of application

Vitamin B6 20 mg JENAPHARM is used to treat vitamin B6 deficiency.If you do not feel better or even feel worse after taking it, you should consult your doctor.

Dosage

The recommended dose for treating confirmed vitamin B6 deficiency is one tablet containing 20 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride daily.Please take the tablet whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml).

The duration of use depends on the type and severity of the underlying disease.Please discuss this with your doctor.If you feel that the effect is too strong or too weak, also talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you take more than you should, high doses may inhibit milk production.Long-term ingestion of more than 50 mg per day or short-term ingestion of more than 1 g per day may result in neurotoxic effects.An overdose may manifest as sensory polyneuropathy, incoordination or convulsions.Profound sedation, hypotension, and respiratory distress may occur in newborns and infants.

In the event of an acute overdose of more than 150 mg per kg of body weight, artificially induced vomiting and the administration of activated charcoal are recommended.Vomiting is most effective in the first 30 minutes after ingestion.Intensive care measures may be necessary.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Simply continue using as described in the dosage instructions.If you would like to stop taking the medication, please contact your doctor.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), yellow orange S or any of the other ingredients.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Long-term use of more than 50 mg per day or short-term use of doses in the gram range may cause tingling and pins and needles on the hands and feet.If you notice these symptoms, please contact your doctor.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, your daily vitamin requirements should be ensured with a balanced diet.

This medicine is only useful for treating a vitamin deficiency and may therefore only be taken after the doctor has carefully weighed the benefits and risks.There are no systematic studies on taking the drug during pregnancy.Vitamin B6 passes into breast milk.

Notes

Contains lactose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
