The Hydrocoll wound dressing is a sterile packaged, self-adhesive dressing that was specially developed for moist wound treatment.It is available in various sizes, including the 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm size.The dressing consists of a hydrocolloid material that creates a moist wound environment through gel conversion.This promotes granulation and epithelialization of the wound without irritating it.The semi-permeable, germ-proof top layer ensures optimal protection.

Application

The Hydrocoll wound dressing is suitable for the treatment of clinically uninfected, weakly to moderately secreting wounds.It is used in particular for wounds with a poor healing tendency and long-term granulation build-up, such as leg ulcers or decubitus ulcers.The bandage can also be used for second degree burns.Special versions such as Hydrocoll sacral are used for pressure ulcers in the sacral area, while Hydrocoll concave is used on the heel or elbow.Due to its lower absorption capacity, Hydrocoll thin is preferably used in the epithelialization phase.
