Iron sulfate Lomapharm 50 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient iron (II) sulfate.This medicine is used to treat iron deficiency.No prescription is required for this product.

The medicine is used to treat iron deficiency conditions.

Dosage and instructions for use

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.Take the medicine with liquid, such as a glass of water.

The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease.It should therefore be determined in consultation with your doctor.

Children weighing 25 kg or more should take one tablet three times a day, morning, afternoon and evening, about an hour before a meal.Adults should take one tablet four times a day, morning, afternoon, evening and at bedtime, approximately one hour before a meal.

Various symptoms may occur in the event of an overdose, including nausea, bloody vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, drowsiness and circulatory collapse.Small children are particularly at risk.If you suspect an overdose, you should contact a doctor immediately.

If you forget to take it, continue taking it as normal at the next prescribed time, i.e. not with a double dose.Pay attention to careful dosage, especially for infants, small children and the elderly.If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient iron sulfate or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The drug should also not be used in cases of anemia with iron utilization disorders, such as sideroachrestic anemia, thalassemia or lead anemia, as well as in cases of hemochromatosis (iron overload) and hemolytic anemia.

Under certain circumstances, the medicine should not be used for inflammation of the gastric mucosa, ulcers in the digestive tract or inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about this.

Children weighing less than 25 kg should generally not use the medicine.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist to discuss your individual situation.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea and constipation.In addition, the stool may turn black, which is harmless.

Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains 151.118-154.553 mg iron (II) sulfate, dried, and 50 mg iron (II) ion.The excipients included include maltodextrin, calcium (palmitate, stearate), lactose-1 water, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate (vegetable), shellac, titanium dioxide, cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch, sodium type A, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose, povidone K25 and iron oxides and hydroxides.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol (E number E 431), talc, cocoa, spices, essential oils and turpentine oil.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Therefore, before starting treatment with a new medicine, tell your doctor or pharmacist any other medicine you are already using.

Coffee, cola drinks, mate tea and green and black tea should be avoided during treatment.Milk and dairy products, mineral water, calcium-fortified drinks and mineral supplements should be avoided within 2 hours before and 4 hours after intake.

Storage

The medicine must be stored away from heat.
