Area of application

Cromo-ratiopharm is a combination of nasal spray and eye drops that is used for allergic rhinitis that occurs together with allergic conjunctivitis.It is used for hay fever when allergic symptoms occur in the nose and eyes, such as runny nose, itching or tearing.In some cases, additional administration of decongestant nasal drops or systemic anti-allergic medication may be useful at the beginning of treatment.Please discuss this with your doctor.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The active ingredient in Cromo-ratiopharm is sodium cromoglicate.The other ingredients of the nasal spray are sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution, water for injections.The nasal spray is preservative-free.The eye drops also contain benzalkonium chloride, sorbitol, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution and water for injections.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients.Even if an allergic reaction is suspected, renewed contact should be avoided at all costs.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should only use this medicine after consulting your doctor.

Dosage

Always use Cromo-ratiopharm exactly as directed.The usual dose for adults and children is 1 spray of nasal spray into each nostril up to 4 times daily.The daily dose can be increased if necessary, but should not exceed 1 spray 6 times a day.For eye drops, children and adults drip 1 drop into each eye 4 times a day.The daily dose can be increased to 1 drop up to 8 times a day.Regular daily use is necessary as Cromo-ratiopharm does not have an immediate effect.Treatment should continue as long as you are exposed to the allergens.If you have used more than you should, no symptoms of poisoning have been reported.Do not take a double dose if you forget to use it.If you stop using it, your symptoms may worsen again.

Intake

The nasal spray is intended for nasal use.When using for the first time, remove the protective cover and operate the spray mechanism until a fine mist emerges.Insert the spray opening into one nostril and press the spray mechanism once firmly.Put the protective cover back on after each use.The eye drops are intended for use on the eyes.Tilt your head back slightly, pull your lower eyelid down with the index finger of one hand and hold the bottle vertically over your eye.Drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac and try to keep the eye open and move it so that the drop is well distributed.

Patient information

If you have inflammation, including allergic conjunctivitis, you should ask your ophthalmologist whether you can continue to wear contact lenses despite the symptoms.The medicine affects visual performance for a few minutes immediately after use.Before driving or operating machines, you should wait until the visual impairment has passed.

Pregnancy

There is no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the drug.However, you should only use the product during pregnancy if your doctor considers it necessary.The active ingredient passes into breast milk in small quantities.Therefore, you should only use the medicine while breastfeeding if the doctor thinks it is necessary.

Other

The medication is only suitable for prophylaxis or long-term therapy.Treatment should continue after the symptoms have subsided for as long as you are exposed to the allergens.The therapy effect must be monitored regularly.
