1. What is isotone saline solution 0.9% brown and what is it used for?
Isotonic saline solution 0.9% brown is a saline solution that is supplied via a venous drip.The solution contains table salt in a concentration that corresponds to the salt concentration in the blood.It is used to replace fluids and salt in cases of fluid deficiency or simultaneous sodium and fluid deficiency, increased pH and simultaneously reduced chloride levels, as well as chloride losses.
In addition, it is used for short-term replenishment of the vascular system, as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and compatible medications, as well as for wound treatment and moistening towels and dressings.
2. What do you need to consider before using Isotonic saline solution 0.9% brown?
Isotonic saline solution 0.9% Braun must not be used if you suffer from overhydration.Particular caution is required with low blood potassium levels, increased blood sodium levels, increased blood chloride levels and certain diseases such as heart failure, fluid buildup in the tissues, fluid buildup in the lungs and high blood pressure.
If you suffer from a lack of water and at the same time a high level of salts in the blood, the solution must be infused sufficiently slowly.During the infusion, your water balance, acid-base balance and serum electrolyte levels will be monitored.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking or using.The solution should be used with caution in pregnancy-related illnesses with high blood pressure, cramps and fluid accumulation in the tissues.
3. How should Isotone saline solution 0.9% brown be used?
The solution is applied intravenously or used for rinsing and moistening.The amount depends on fluid and electrolyte needs.Maximum dose is 40 ml per kg body weight per day, usually up to 5 ml per kg body weight per hour is administered.
If overdosed, it can lead to increased levels of sodium and chloride in the blood, overhydration and increased acidity of the blood.In such a case, the infusion is stopped and a diuretic is administered if necessary.
4. What side effects are possible?
Isotonic saline solution 0.9% Braun can cause side effects such as increased sodium and chloride levels in the blood.Report side effects to your doctor or pharmacist.
5. How should Isotone saline solution 0.9% brown be stored?
Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.No special storage conditions are required.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date.After first opening, the preparation should be used immediately and stored at 2 to 8 °C for no longer than 24 hours.
