Areas of application

Coldastop nasal oil is a vitamin-containing rhinological agent that is used for the regeneration treatment of acutely or chronically damaged nasal mucosa.This may be necessary, for example, in the event of excessive use of medications to decongest mucous membranes, dry nasal catarrhs with loss of mucous membranes, crusts and bark formation at the entrance to the nose, on the inner surface of the nostrils and in the upper throat, as well as for follow-up treatment after nose operations.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Coldastop nasal oil contains retinol palmitate (8.25 mg, equivalent to 15,000 IU of vitamin A) and all-rac-alpha-tocopherol acetate (20 mg, vitamin E acetate) as active ingredients.Other ingredients include lemon oil, orange peel oil, terpineol, butylated hydroxyanisole (E320), butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), cetearyl octanoate, peanut oil and isopropyl myristate.

Contraindications

Coldastop nasal oil must not be used if you are hypersensitive to vitamin A palmitate, vitamin E acetate, peanut, soy or any of the other ingredients.The medicine is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the nasal oil should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Dosage and application

Adults and children aged 3 and over should instill 2-3 drops of the nasal oil into each nostril several times a day.The head should be bent back and the oil should be distributed into the nose by gently massaging the nostrils.Avoid contact with eyes.Coldastop nasal oil can be used over a longer period of time or for interval therapy.

Side effects

Occasionally, inhaling nasal oil containing terpineol can trigger a cough.Hypersensitivity reactions such as local skin reactions, burning of the nasal mucosa or rhinitis have been reported very rarely.Peanut oil can rarely cause severe allergic reactions.If you notice any side effects, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Coldastop nasal oil should be kept out of the reach of children.The shelf life in the unopened bottle is 2 years.After opening the bottle, the nasal oil should be used within 6 weeks.A slight cloudiness of the solution is due to the natural ingredients and has no influence on the effect and tolerability.If there is severe cloudiness or a change in smell, the nasal oil should no longer be used.
