Berberil Dry Eye EDO eye drops are a synthetic tear substitute that is used for the symptomatic treatment of dryness of the cornea and conjunctiva.These can be caused by tear secretion and tear dysfunction, local or systemic diseases and incomplete eyelid closure.Typical symptoms include burning eyes, foreign body sensation and photophobia, especially in wind, heat and fatigue.

Since the eye drops are unpreserved, they are particularly suitable for people who cannot tolerate preserved artificial tear substitutes.The active ingredient hypromellose ensures sufficient moistening of the cornea and conjunctiva.The eye drops are also suitable for moistening hard and soft contact lenses.

Application and dosage

Berberil Dry Eye EDO eye drops should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional.The clinical picture of dry eye requires an individual dosage.Unless otherwise prescribed, 1 drop should be dripped into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day or more frequently as needed.

It is used as long-term or permanent therapy.In the event of long-term or continuous use, an ophthalmologist should always be consulted.The contents of a one-dose ophtiol are sufficient for use in both eyes.Opened one-dose ophtiols should not be stored as they do not contain any preservative.The remaining amount after application must be discarded.

Storage

Keep the eye drops out of the reach of children and do not store them above 25°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Active ingredient: Hypromellose (1.92 mg).Excipients: disodium hydrogen phosphate-12 water, sodium dihydrogen phosphate-2 water, sorbitol and water for injections.

Contraindications

Berberil Dry Eye EDO eye drops must not be used if you are allergic to hypromellose or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use should only be carried out after the doctor has carefully weighed the benefits and risks.

Side effects

Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for the drug.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

No prescription is required for this product.If multiple eye drops or eye ointments are used, spacing between applications is necessary.During treatment with phosphate-containing eye drops, in very rare cases patients with severe corneal damage developed clouding of the cornea due to calcium deposits.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.You should therefore generally tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with a new medicine that you are already using.

Since the instillation into the conjunctival sac of the eye can result in blurred vision that only lasts a few minutes due to the formation of streaks, you should not operate machines, work without a secure grip, or drive during this time.
