Pan-Ophtal Gel is an eye gel with the active ingredient dexpanthenol.One gram of the gel contains 50 milligrams of dexpanthenol.This product is available without a prescription.

Areas of application

Pan-Ophtal Gel is used to treat non-inflammatory corneal diseases of the eye.These include corneal dystrophies, which are caused by nutritional disorders, corneal degenerations, which are regressions, recurrent corneal erosions, which are peelings, and corneal lesions, which are injuries in contact lens wearers.It also supports the healing process of corneal and conjunctival damage, chemical burns and burns.It can also be used in addition to specific therapy for infectious corneal processes of bacterial, viral or mycogenic origin.

Note: Pan-Ophtal Gel is not suitable for healing infectious corneal processes, but only as an additional medication to a specific therapy for these diseases.

Contraindications

Pan-Ophtal Gel must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage and application

Depending on the severity and severity of the disease, Pan-Ophtal Gel should be dripped into the conjunctival sac four times a day and before going to bed.The duration of use is not limited and should continue until the symptoms have subjectively improved.

There are no known risks associated with accidental or intentional overdose.The therapeutic effect is not improved or worsened.If an application is forgotten, the next application should not be doubled, but should be done as quickly as possible.

Side effects

Possible side effects include eye irritation such as redness, pain, foreign body sensation, increased tearing, itching and conjunctival swelling.Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching and rash may occur.

Storage

Pan-Ophtal Gel must no longer be used after the expiry date.Once opened, it should not be used for longer than six weeks.It must not be stored above 25°C.

Composition

In addition to the active ingredient dexpanthenol, Pan-Ophtal Gel contains the excipients cetrimide, carbomer, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide and water for injection purposes.

Mode of action

The active ingredient dexpanthenol promotes wound healing.It is structurally related to pantothenic acid, a vitamin that is involved in important metabolic processes in the body.Damaged skin or mucous membranes lack pantothenic acid.Dexpanthenol compensates for this missing vitamin and enables faster wound healing.

Important notes

When using Pan-Ophtal Gel, contact lens wearers should not wear the lenses as this could lead to smearing and intolerance.In addition, the formation of streaks can lead to a short-term impairment of visual performance.During this time you should not drive, work without a secure footing and do not operate machines.
