Instructions for use of Helixor P 5 mg
Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Areas of application
In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.These include malignant and benign tumor diseases, also with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.
Active ingredients and composition
Helixor® is available in different strengths, which indicate the amount of fresh plant material used to make one ampoule.The solution for injection contains extract of fresh mistletoe (1:20) and extractives such as water for injections and sodium chloride.The other ingredients include table salt, sodium hydroxide and, for certain strengths, additional water for injection purposes.
Application
Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is one subcutaneous injection 2-3 times weekly.Therapy usually begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.The optimal dose must be determined individually and may vary depending on the patient's reaction.
Side effects
Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.Allergic reactions are possible and require discontinuation of the preparation and immediate medical attention.
Storage
Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
