Instructions for use of Helixor P 30 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Helixor® is used in adults in accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.This includes malignant and benign tumor diseases, accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

No prescription is required for this product.Please read this entire leaflet carefully for important information.In order to achieve the best possible treatment success, Helixor® should be used correctly as directed by the doctor.

Application and dosage

Helixor® is applied by subcutaneous injection (syringe under the skin), if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is 2 to 3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.

The optimal dose must be determined individually and may vary depending on the patient's reaction.During treatment, attention should be paid to rhythmic application in order to avoid habituation effects.This can be achieved by alternating doses with lower doses, rhythmizing the injection intervals and introducing breaks.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Helixor® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to mistletoe preparations, suffer from an acute inflammatory or high fever illness, have chronic granulomatous diseases or autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, or are under immunosuppressive treatment.Caution should also be exercised if you have an overactive thyroid with a racing heart.

Composition and storage

1 ml injection solution (1 ampoule) Helixor® contains an extract of fresh mistletoe (plant to extract = 1:20) and extractants such as water for injections and sodium chloride.The exact amount of extract varies depending on the strength of the product.

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
