Instructions for use of Helixor A 50 mg

Helixor® is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh mistletoe, which, depending on the product variant, is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The solution for injection is prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride as an extractant.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Helixor® is used in adults to stimulate form and integration forces to dissolve and reintegrate growth processes that have become independent.These include malignant tumor diseases, including those with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs, benign tumor diseases, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Active ingredients and composition

Helixor® is available in different strengths depending on the amount of fresh mistletoe used.The injection solution contains extracts from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe, depending on the product variant.The extracts are prepared with water for injections and sodium chloride.

Application

Helixor® is injected subcutaneously, if possible close to the tumor or metastases, or in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dose is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased until maintenance therapy is achieved.The optimal dose is determined individually and can be adjusted depending on the patient's reaction.

Side effects

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Storage

Helixor® should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
