Dona 750 mg film-coated tablets belong to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic agents.They are used to relieve symptoms of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee joint.The active ingredient glucosamine hemisulfate supports cartilage regeneration and improves joint function.

Dosage and instructions for use

The recommended dose is one film-coated tablet twice daily.The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water or a suitable liquid, preferably in the morning and evening with meals.Glucosamine is not suitable for treating acute pain because it takes a few weeks to take effect.If there is no improvement after 2-3 months, continued treatment should be reconsidered.

Contraindications

Dona 750 mg film-coated tablets should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to glucosamine or any of the other ingredients, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic to shellfish.Patients with diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease or bronchial asthma should speak to their doctor before use.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain.In addition, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as skin redness, itching and eczema may occur.Headaches and fatigue are also possible.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Composition

1 Film-coated tablet contains 750 mg glucosamine hemisulfate as the active ingredient.Other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K25, croscarmellose sodium, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, talc, methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:1), titanium dioxide, ammonium methacrylate copolymer and triacetin.

Mode of action

Glucosamine hemisulfate is a natural component of synovial fluid and cartilage tissue.It promotes the regeneration of cartilage and inhibits inflammatory processes in the joint.This improves mobility and relieves pain.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 30°C.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the outer carton/container.
