Area of application

Remifemin is a herbal medicine used to relieve menopausal symptoms.It helps with psychological and neurovegetative symptoms caused by menopause, such as hot flashes, sweats and sleep disorders.The product contains a unique, isopropanolic special extract from the rhizome of black cohosh, known as iCR.The effectiveness and safety of iCR have been proven in over 35 studies involving more than 43,000 women.Remifemin is hormone-free and phytoestrogen-free, making it safe for breast and uterine tissue.It has been tried and tested since 1956 and is one of the most commonly used herbal medicines for menopausal symptoms.

One tablet of Remifemin contains 2.5 mg dry extract from Cimicifuga rhizome (6 - 11:1), where the extractant is propan-2-ol (40% v/v).The other ingredients are cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, potato starch and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

Remifemin must not be used if you are hypersensitive to black cohosh rhizome or any of the other ingredients.It should not be taken, or only after consultation with a doctor, by patients with previously damaged liver, who are simultaneously taking estrogens or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet twice a day (morning and evening), which should be swallowed whole with a little liquid.The tablets can be taken without regard to meals.The notch is not for dividing the tablet.Due to the area of application, use in children, adolescents and men is not intended.There are no sufficient data for specific dosage recommendations for impaired kidney/liver function.

Intake

Remifemin tablets are intended to be taken orally.Swallow the tablets whole with a little liquid and do not suck them.You can take the tablets regardless of meals.

Patient information

Take special care when taking it if your menstrual period is disturbed or occurs again.You should also see a doctor if you have persistent, unclear symptoms or if other symptoms appear.If you take estrogens at the same time, this should only be done under medical supervision.The medicine can increase the effects of estrogens.If your liver has been damaged, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.If signs of liver damage occur, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor.If you are or have been treated for breast cancer or other hormone-dependent tumors, you should not take Cimicifuga preparations without medical advice.If symptoms worsen during treatment with Remifemin, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

There are no sufficient data on use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The medicine should therefore not be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
