Remifemin® is a herbal medicine used to relieve psychological and neurovegetative symptoms caused by menopause.These include hot flashes, sweats and sleep disorders.The active ingredient is a dry extract from the rhizome of black cohosh.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Remifemin® is used to treat menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, sweats and sleep disorders.It contains a unique, isopropanolic special extract from the rhizome of black cohosh, called iCR.The effectiveness and safety of iCR have been proven in over 35 studies involving more than 43,000 women.Remifemin® is hormone-free and does not contain any phytoestrogens.It is safe for breast and uterine tissue and has been used since 1956.

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life that begins between the ages of 45 and 55.During this time, the production of the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone gradually decreases, which leads to irregular menstrual periods, which eventually stop altogether.The physical transition phase can last up to 10 years.During this time, many women suffer from side effects such as hot flashes, sweats, sleep disorders, mood swings and depressive moods.Remifemin® offers effective herbal help with these complaints.

One Remifemin® tablet contains 2.5 mg dry extract from the rhizome of black cohosh, obtained with isopropanol as an extractant.The excipients include cellulose powder, potato starch, magnesium stearate and lactose-1-water.

Contraindications

Remifemin® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to black cohosh rhizome or any of the other ingredients.It should not be taken or only after medical advice by patients with previous liver damage, who are taking estrogens at the same time, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage

The recommended dosage of Remifemin® is one tablet twice daily.The tablet should be swallowed whole with a little liquid and should not be sucked.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Intake

Take one Remifemin® tablet whole with a little liquid twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.The tablets can be taken without regard to meals.For further information read the instructions for use.

Patient information

Take special care when taking Remifemin® if your period is disturbed or occurs again.You should also consult a doctor if you have persistent, unclear symptoms or new symptoms.If you take estrogens at the same time, this should only be done under medical supervision, as Remifemin® can increase the effects of estrogens.If your liver has already been damaged, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.If you experience signs of liver damage such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, loss of appetite or tiredness, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor.If you are or have been treated for breast cancer or other hormone-dependent tumors, you should not take Cimicifuga preparations without medical advice.If symptoms worsen during treatment with Remifemin®, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

There are no sufficient data on the use of Remifemin® during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The medicine should therefore not be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
