Area of application

This mineral preparation is used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency, especially if it causes neuromuscular disorders.It helps to normalize muscle activity.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each chewable tablet contains 1803 mg magnesium DL-hydrogenaspartate 4-water, which corresponds to 121.5 mg magnesium ions.The following excipients are also included: anhydrous citric acid, calcium salts of fatty acids (C16-C24), glycerol (mono/di/tri) alkanoate (C12-C18), glycerol 85%, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, 197.5 mg sorbitol, 0.016 BE carbohydrates and lemon aroma.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to magnesium bis (hydrogenDL-aspartate) 4H2O or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in cases of severe kidney dysfunction or cardiac conduction disorders (AV block).In such cases, it should be checked whether the electrolyte balance represents a contraindication.

Dosage

The dosage depends on the degree of magnesium deficiency.Adults and adolescents typically take one chewable tablet three times daily, for a total dose of 364.5 mg magnesium.Children aged six and over receive half a chewable tablet three times a day, giving 182.25 mg of magnesium per day.The intake should be continued until the magnesium deficiency is corrected.

Intake

The chewable tablets should be chewed and, if necessary, taken with some liquid before meals.No prescription is required for this product.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in the event of kidney dysfunction.Long-term use in high doses should be avoided.Taking it does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

The preparation can be taken safely during pregnancy and breastfeeding.However, you should always consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication.

Notes

If you have diarrhea, you should temporarily stop taking it and then continue with a reduced dose.If large amounts are taken over the long term, especially if kidney function is impaired, regular checks of the magnesium level in the blood are recommended.Symptoms of tiredness may indicate an excess of magnesium, in which case the dose should be reduced or the intake should be temporarily stopped.

Other

The preparation contains sorbitol, a sugar substitute that may be relevant for diabetics.If taken at the same time as other medicines, especially iron therapies, tetracycline or sodium fluoride, an interval of approximately three hours should be maintained to avoid interactions.
