It contains digestive substances (enzymes) from the pancreas of pigs. Certain precautions should be observed before taking Pangrol 40,000. It must not be taken if you are allergic to pancreatic powder, pork or other ingredients of the medicine. Pangrol 40,000 should also not be taken in acute inflammation of the pancreas or during an acute episode of chronic inflammation of the pancreas. Especially in patients with cystic fibrosis, intestinal obstruction-like symptoms, unusual gastrointestinal complaints or changes in the symptoms should be observed and, if necessary, examined by a doctor. Pangrol 40,000 contains active enzymes which may cause mucosal damage if released in the oral cavity, therefore it should be taken unchewed. The dosage of Pangrol 40,000 is usually 1 capsule per meal. The exact dosage depends on the severity of the digestive disorder and is determined by the doctor. The medicine should be taken unchewed with plenty of liquid, preferably in the middle of the meal.
