Kamillosan® Cream - Anti-inflammatory wound and healing cream for neurodermatitis and eczema

Kamillosan® Cream is a herbal medicine for external use that provides relief from inflammatory skin diseases such as neurodermatitis and various eczema.The cream contains a natural chamomile flower extract from the specially bred Manzana chamomile, which has a particularly high active ingredient content compared to conventional chamomile.The yellowish to pale greenish cream has the characteristic smell of chamomile and is suitable for follow-up treatment following local corticoid therapy.

Area of application

Kamillosan® Cream is used for the follow-up treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, especially after external corticosteroid therapy.These include contact dermatitis, contact eczema, occupational eczema and eczema in children.The cream promotes wound healing and is anti-inflammatory.

Eczema is an inflammation of the skin that can manifest as swollen, red skin, blisters, nodules and scales.The eczema often initially oozes and later crusts over; sometimes it is associated with severe itching.They can indicate a contact allergy or occur as part of neurodermatitis, seborrheic eczema or psoriasis.

Neurodermatitis, also known as atopic eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs in fits and starts and is accompanied by severe itching.Typically, certain areas of the skin such as the neck, elbows, back of the knees or wrists are affected.The most important measure in the treatment of neurodermatitis is daily skin care.

Contact dermatitis occurs when the skin is hypersensitive to certain substances such as fragrances, preservatives, cleaning agents or metals.The skin lesion appears as a red, swollen, weeping and/or itchy area of skin with blisters or scales.The most important measure is to avoid the allergy-causing substance.

Mode of action

Kamillosan® Cream is made from Manzana chamomile, which is particularly rich in active ingredients and was bred and patented specifically for Kamillosan.A special manufacturing process guarantees a consistently high content of active ingredients.Manzana chamomile significantly surpasses the chamomile used in other preparations in terms of its active ingredient content.Kamillosan® cream contains an alcoholic extract from chamomile flowers of Manzana chamomile.

Ingredients of the Kamillosan® cream: 20 mg chamomile flower extract, (2.7-5.5:1), extractant: ethanol 95.4% (V/V), sodium acetate 0.22%, sodium hydroxide 0.12%, cetostearyl sulfate, sodium salt excipient (+), cetostearyl alcohol excipient (+), peanut oil, hydrogenated excipient (+), glycerol excipient(+), glycerol monostearate excipient (+), isopropyl myristate excipient (+), water, purified excipient (+), wool wax alcohols excipient (+), methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate excipient (+), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate excipient (+).

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to chamomile and other composite plants or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Kamillosan® Cream is used as follows: Apply a thin layer to the skin 3 times a day.As soon as the clinical picture has improved, one application twice a day is sufficient.The duration of the application is not limited in time.

Due to its compatibility, Kamillosan® Cream is also recommended for use on infants and small children.There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in newborns, therefore the use of Kamillosan® Cream is not recommended for infants who are not yet 4 weeks old.

No case of overdose has been reported in connection with the use of Kamillosan® Cream.To date, there are no known interactions with other medicines.The Kamillosan® cream has a shelf life of 12 months after opening.

Intake

Apply cream thinly to the skin.

Patient information

Particular caution when using the drug is required in children.There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in newborns.Therefore, the use of the preparation is not recommended for infants who are not yet 4 weeks old.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

Before breastfeeding newborns, the cream must be removed from the nipple area. Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.

Notes

Contains peanut oil, cetostearyl alcohol, wool wax alcohols and methyl and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
