Instructions for use for sab simplex® suspension, 4X30 ml

What is sab simplex®?

Sab simplex® is a medication used to treat gas-related gastrointestinal symptoms such as flatulence and bloating. The active ingredient simeticone, also known as dimeticone silicon dioxide, is a surface-active defoamer that dissolves excessive air and gas buildup in the gastrointestinal tract. This preparation is suitable as a suspension for children as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Adults can also receive sab simplex® in the form of chewable tablets or soft capsules.

Sab simplex® is used to treat colicky abdominal pain, especially in babies. This pain can lead to screaming attacks and is often known as three-month colic. It is a regulatory disorder that usually disappears on its own after a few months.Sab simplex® is available with the sweetener saccharin and raspberry flavor to improve acceptance.

What advantages does sab simplex® have?

Sab simplex® has the advantage that there are no known side effects because the active ingredient does not undergo any chemical or biological reactions with the body. This means that the medication can also be used over a longer period of time to combat flatulence or a feeling of fullness.By using sab simplex®, the gases produced in the gastrointestinal tract can be better absorbed by the intestinal wall or escape through the anus, which leads to relaxation of the intestines and a reduction in flatulence-related pain.

How does sab simplex® work?

Sab simplex® binds the gases in the chyme and reduces surface tension, thereby relaxing the intestinal wall. The foam in the gastrointestinal tract dissolves and the gases can be absorbed through the intestinal lining or escape naturally. No prescription is required for this product.

When to use sab simplex®

Sab simplex® is suitable for combating gas-related gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence or a feeling of fullness. It can also be used to prepare for examinations such as X-rays, ultrasounds or gastrointestinal examinations. After operations in which increased gas formation occurs, sab simplex® quickly provides relief. It can also be used for dishwashing liquid poisoning.

Sab simplex® is taken to reduce gas-related symptoms with or shortly after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.The dosage varies depending on the age group and area of application. For infants, 15 drops are administered per bottle or before breastfeeding.School children receive 20 to 30 drops and adults 30 to 45 drops, each four to six hours apart. For dishwashing liquid poisoning, a minimum dose of 1 teaspoon is recommended.

When you should not use sab simplex® - contraindications

Sab simplex® should not be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredient Simeticon or any of the other ingredients. There are no known interactions with other medicines and the active ingredient is not absorbed by the body but is excreted unchanged. You can therefore take sab simplex® over a longer period of time without having to expect any contraindications. However, if abdominal symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor.

I was recommended the drops for our first son, unfortunately quite late in the day, but they really work wonders. A few drops in the bottle and after a few minutes everything is fine with our second son. It's a really great remedy that saves the little ones from stomach ache.

Sab Simplex is the only thing that made my 6-week-old baby fart properly. In contrast to Lefax, it worked much better and he no longer struggles so much. Sab Simplex or Lefax. One product works better than the other, you have to find out for yourself! :)
