Instructions for use for Lefax Pump Liquid, 50 ml
Description
When infants suffer from gas, the entire family suffers.Flatulence in babies in the first months of life can progress to cramps (infant colic). It is not uncommon for abdominal pain to be accompanied by violent screaming attacks that last for hours. This is normal, but can be very worrying and stressful for parents. When you drink, you always swallow air - sometimes more, sometimes less - and it enters your stomach along with the milk. The contact between milk and air creates a viscous, fine-bubble foam.Since the infant's digestive system often does not yet function smoothly, this foam may not be dissolved. The foam bubbles then travel into the intestines and cause abdominal pain.
Lefax® Pump-Liquid is ideal for flatulence in babies - with Lefax® the air bubbles in the stomach dissolve reliably and painlessly. With the practical dosing pump, handling is also safe and easy.Lefax® Pump-Liquid can also be used for the symptomatic treatment of infant colic (3-month colic).Lefax® Pump-Liquid is alcohol-free, coloring-free, sugar-free and lactose-free.
Areas of application
Lefax® Pump-Liquid Suspension is a defoaming medicine. It is used for excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal area (meteorism) with gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence, a feeling of fullness and a feeling of tension in the upper abdomen. It is also used for the symptomatic treatment of infant colic (3-month colic), for increased gas formation after operations and for the preparation of diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area to reduce gas shadows (sonography, x-rays).It can be used as an immediate measure in the event of poisoning with liquid soaps (surfactants).
Mode of action
The active ingredient Simeticon contained in Lefax® Pump-Liquid works directly in the intestine and has a purely physical effect. It is not absorbed into the body, but leaves it unchanged.Simeticon causes the foam created during digestion, which is responsible for the symptoms, to break down. This allows the released air to leave the baby bump through a burp or via the rectum.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
1 ml suspension (2 pumps) contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 41.2 mg Simeticon, 40 mg Dimeticon 3000, 1.2 mg silicon dioxide, aluminum magnesium trisilicate, citric acid (anhydrous), hyetellose, macrogol 6000, sodium cyclamate, PEG-25 glycerol trioleate, saccharin (sodium salt), purified water,Potassium sorbate, sorbic acid and banana flavor.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to Simeticon or any of the other ingredients.
Dosage
Always take the preparation exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The usual dose for gas-related gastrointestinal complaints for infants is 1 to 2 pumps (equivalent to 0.5 to 1 ml of suspension) with milk meals.Children aged 1 to 6 years receive 2 pumps (equivalent to 1 ml of suspension) 3 to 5 times daily.Children aged 7 to 14 years take 2 to 4 pumps (equivalent to 1 to 2 ml of suspension) 3 to 5 times daily.Adolescents and adults take 4 pumps (equivalent to 2 ml of suspension) 3 to 5 times daily. In preparation for diagnostic examinations, the recommended dosage is 4 to 6 pumps (equivalent to 6 to 9 ml of suspension) 3 times daily on the day before the examination and 4 to 6 pumps (equivalent to 2 to 3 ml of suspension) on the morning of the examination day.As an immediate measure in the event of poisoning with surfactants, adults receive 1 to 2 tablespoons (10 to 20 ml suspension) and children ½ to 2 teaspoons (2.5 to 10 ml suspension). In any case, medical treatment is required following the emergency measure.
The duration of application depends on the course of the symptoms. You can also take the preparation for a longer period of time if necessary. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
Poisonings caused by the preparation are not yet known. The active ingredient simeticone is not absorbed into the bloodstream.Even large quantities are tolerated without any problems.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose. The symptoms may return if you stop treatment.
Intake
Take the suspension undiluted or with a little liquid before or after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.The preparation mixes easily with formula and other liquids, such as milk. For infants, the suspension can be given directly into the bottle.Breastfeeding mothers can give the preparation to the infant before breastfeeding, for example with a teaspoon. It is important to make sure that the preparation is shaken vigorously before use! Before breastfeeding, give your child one pump with a spoon into the cheek pouch.Repeat the dose if you change the breast in between.Bottle-fed babies receive one or two pumps directly into the prepared milk or food.

Notes
