Lefax® extra chewable tablets help with gas-related complaints such as flatulence, a feeling of tension in the stomach, a feeling of fullness, nausea and the urge to vomit.The active ingredient simeticone works locally in the gastrointestinal tract and releases the trapped air.The chewable tablets are practical for on the go as they can be taken without liquid and have a fresh peppermint taste.They are suitable for adults, young people aged 15 and over, pregnant women and breastfeeding women.The chewable tablets can also be used to prepare for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal cavity.

Mode of action

The active ingredient simeticone in the Lefax® extra chewable tablets (105 mg per chewable tablet) mixes with food in the stomach and develops its effect in the gastrointestinal tract.Simeticon frees the air trapped in gas bubbles and has a foam-preventing effect.The active ingredient is not absorbed into the bloodstream and only has a local effect, relieving flatulence and other gas-related symptoms.

The Lefax® extra chewable tablets contain 105 mg simeticone as the active ingredient.Excipients include bitter fennel oil, microcrystalline cellulose, glucose, glycerol distearate, hyetellosis, caraway oil, peppermint oil and sucrose.One chewable tablet corresponds to 0.07 bread units (BE).

Dosage

Adults and young people aged 15 and over can take one to two chewable tablets three to four times a day for gas-related complaints.It should be taken with or after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.The chewable tablets should be chewed thoroughly.The duration of use depends on the severity of the symptoms.If symptoms persist or are unclear, a doctor should be consulted.Accidental overdose is not critical because Simeticon does not enter the blood.

Intake

The chewable tablets are chewed well before or after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.Water is not required.
