Patient information
It is recommended to speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine, especially if an infection is present.Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time.
Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided.Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring because the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers is increased.
Effects on the cardiovascular system may be associated with a slightly increased risk of heart attack or stroke.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.
If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling, you should stop taking it immediately and seek medical help.
Use should be avoided during chickenpox infection.
The medicine may mask signs of infection, which may result in a delay in appropriate treatment.Consult a doctor if infection symptoms persist or worsen.
Particularly careful medical monitoring is required in cases of impaired kidney or liver function, lack of fluids, after major surgical procedures and in the case of allergies or chronic respiratory diseases.
Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions are very rare but require immediate discontinuation of therapy.
Ibuprofen may temporarily inhibit platelet function, which should be carefully monitored in patients with bleeding disorders.
If used for a longer period of time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.
The doctor or dentist should be informed before any surgical procedures.
Prolonged use of painkillers can make headaches worse. In this case, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.
Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.
The medicine must not be used in children under 12 years of age or in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg.
Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when using the drug in higher doses, the ability to react may be changed in individual cases and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines may be impaired. This applies even more when combined with alcohol.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
If pregnancy is discovered during use, the doctor should be notified.Do not take this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy as this could harm your unborn baby or cause problems during birth.
The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will generally not be necessary if the recommended dose is used for a short period of time.
The preparation belongs to a group of medicines that can affect women's fertility. This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.
