Instructions for use of Simethicone ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets

Simethicone-ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets contain the active ingredient Dimeticon-1000 silicon dioxide, also known as Simeticon.This product is a defoamer used for the symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence and bloating.It can also be used as an aid in preparing for examinations in the abdominal area, such as X-rays and sonography.

Areas of application

Simethicone ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets are used for excessive gas formation in the gastrointestinal area.They help to alleviate the symptoms and can also be used to prepare for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal cavity to reduce gas shadows in the X-ray image.

Dosage and application

Always take Simethicone ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, adults and adolescents aged 14 and over should take 1-2 chewable tablets chewed 3-4 times a day.Children aged 6-14 years take 1 chewable tablet 3-4 times daily.To prepare for imaging examinations, take 3-4 chewable tablets the day before the examination and 1 chewable tablet on the morning of the examination day as directed by the doctor.

The chewable tablets should be chewed well.For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, they are taken after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.The duration of application depends on the course of the symptoms and can also be carried out over a longer period of time if necessary.

Composition

Each chewable tablet contains 85 mg Dimeticon 1000 silicon dioxide (94.5: 5.5) as active ingredient.The other ingredients are cellulose powder, lactose, sorbitol, calcium hydrogen phosphate, talc, saccharin sodium and peppermint flavor.

Contraindications

Simethicone ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to simethicone or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.Children under 6 years of age should generally not use the medicine.

Storage

Keep Simethicone ratiopharm® 85 mg chewable tablets out of the reach and reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.Store the chewable tablets in the original packaging to protect them from moisture.

Important notes

Caution is advised if you are allergic to the sweetener saccharin or have an intolerance to fructose or lactose.If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should consider the sugar content.
